Hello and
welcome to the first instalment of this new blog, Digital Marketing Newbie!
As you
may be able to tell from the name, I am a total beginner in the world of digital
marketing (or eMarketing). As a tech-minded user I have a fair amount of background
knowledge, but in recent years I have become obsessed, enchanted and fascinated
by the potential that online media have for engaging and informing an audience.
The nature of interacting with a product service or brand via the web yields an
incredibly detailed and real-time data set that can lead to amazing benefits
for consumers and businesses alike. Given my lifelong ambition to engage and
inform the world on topics that matter, I have decided that this is a field
that I need to embrace without a moments more hesitation!
This blog
is primarily a journal of my discoveries, lessons and notes as I teach myself
to become a digital marketer. In addition, I hope this can act as a resource
for others so that they can learn from my mistakes.
Finally,
any true marketer and especially those of the digital world know that marketing
is not a soap box, but a two way street. I welcome all those who have
suggestions for content or projects, corrections, or just plain old
encouragement! It will not only help me to learn faster but will also allow
this to be as useful to others as possible.
